I left for two hours for lunch with a friend. I notified them that I had returned and was in the customer lounge. After waiting another hour I contacted them and asked if my car would be done soon as I had another appointment to go to. They immediately replied back that my car was ready. That was a total of three hours to do an oil change and rotate the tires. It has never taken that long before and I’m certainly glad my friend came and took me to lunch or it would have been even worse!

Although my appointment wasn't scheduled as I made it online they got me in and completed the oil change. Customer service was very nice

I brought my diesel pu truck in because the check engine light came on, on my way to the service appt. I notice that the light was off, after I brought it home, the next day the check engine light was on again, I’m leaving for the Winter and we can follow up in May after I get back. Service and dealership are outstanding, I think this is just GM bug??? Thank you

Our Service advisors were helpful in taking care of what we needed done with our truck , so this should not be a negative against them. The technician that was working on our truck left oily film all on the left front fender then tried to wipe it off and smeared and scratched our front fender, also left oily fingerprints on our hood. If someone wants to contact us I would gladly show them the pictures I have when my wife drove the truck home. Once again not very happy with the technician working on our truck ! I understand that oil drips but at least have the decency to wipe it up good and use a good rag that doesn’t scratch my fender up!!

I dropped my truck off the evening of 4/3/25 for an appointment on 4/7/25. I was then told that the diesel tech was on vacation the week of the 7th and they wouldn’t have anyone to service it until the following Monday. I picked up my “repaired” truck on Tuesday with a bill of $2400+. I didn’t make it 50 miles before the exact same issue happened again. I limped it back to the dealer on Wednesday and was informed by Larry my service advisor that it’s a different injector and it will probably be the same bill but he spoke to Melanie and she was going to speak to GM about the issue and se if there was any assistance from them. Larry suggested that I spend the additional $2400 again and immediately trade it in on a new one!! Unbelievable. I asked if the tech tested the other injectors while they the motor apart. He stated that he didn’t think the tech that worked on it was that experienced and that the more experienced tech (who normally does these jobs) didn’t work on it. But I was told initially that they only have one diesel tech on staff? So, if that’s the case, did your dealership have a non-diesel tech work on my truck? He also said that they were out of loaners and to come back today 4/17 and he’d have one for me. I arrived at the dealership to find out that Melanie hadn’t talked to anyone yet nor did he have a loaner for me. Did Larry bother to call me before I drove 45 minutes to pick up the loaner that was supposed to be there for me? No he didn’t!! He said come back tomorrow and we should have one. All I have to say is that I have given this dealership numerous opportunities to fix my truck with the same two issues repeating over and over. I did go back in, Larry and the service department had already left. I asked for my keys and I’m taking it back to the dealership in the Twin Cities where I purchased it to have them work on it. I wouldn’t recommend your dealership to anyone especially if it’s for service.

Advisor is great, always letting you know what is going on with the vehicle, as far as needing more than what was scheduled to be done. Great service

Had spare on vehicle. Had 4 new tires put on at Don Johnson. Upon pick up of vehicle, spare was just thrown in back. Seems as if they could have put it back in place and fastened into vehicle. No customer consideration unless your paying them for every second!!

The staff is friendly and happy to help you. There was an issue with picking up two pieces of steel in my tire, one that punctured it. They got my car in to fix the tire. We found out the tire had already been patched so a new tire is needed. A quote of three different tires was sent to me so I could choose what I wanted. Don Johnson Motors has been there for me when I need assistance. I truly appreciate them!

Little missed off. I was supposed to have 2 more free oil changes. Which was additional when I purchased truck 2 yrs ago. Service man said my warranty was over so I have to pay. These 2 oil changes i had left had nothing to do with warranty

Generally good, when I got ahold of people they were good to work with. However, they were very, very poor about letting me know when my truck was done. My truck was being fixed over three days each day I needed to find a ride to work and a ride home if the truck wasn’t done. Each day I would use the phone menu to try to get a hold of somebody to find out if my truck was done and would call every 15 minutes for hours and never get a human to pick up. Because I couldn’t get a hold of anybody by phone, the last day I had to leave my work and get a ride to the dealership so that I could actually talk to a human and then go back to work, which was a humongous waste of my time and could’ve been accomplished by phone or text. I also received a text at the beginning of this process that said they would walk me through things and keep me updated, the text was worthless, never sent me updates, and never responded to me when I inquired if my vehicle was done. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the work that was done but making me have to stock the service department to simply find out if my truck was done at the end of each day was such a waste of time that I may look for other options for repair next time

The last two visits I have made to the Don Johnson dealership in Rice Lake have been frustrating. The first issue was my brake lines were serviced and an air bubble was left in the line. I figured this out as I exited the parking lot and was not able to break, causing me to pull out in front of moving traffic. Luckily it was a side road and other vehicles were not traveling fast. At the end of this appointment I was also told some parts would be ordered so they would be there when I scheduled my next visit. I scheduled online and when I arrived I was told they didn't have the parts. The service representative also tried to sign me up for the same break service I received at the previous appointment. Lastly, the service representative and the mechanic did not thoroughly investigate a chirping/squeaking noise I mentioned which has been persistent before and after the appointment. I will be finding a different business to service my GMC vehicle.

Friendly people at the Customer Service desk

Very Expensive and slow. 2 1/2 hours to diagnose (not repair) AC issue while I waited. Service rep did not keep me informed about what was going on...I had to go back to the service desk after 2 hours to find out...waited another 30 minutes and I had to remond him I was still waiting for some report from him to which he answered "I'm going back now to check with the mechanic". They did not diagnose the issue and "guessed" it "might be" a valve. Charged one hour for "labor" for diagnotic $159.99 which seems very expensive for labor only...and additional $24+ for "fees" and taxes (taxes on diagnotic hour were about $8). They did agree to waive fees in this case, as service rep had not informed me that the charge would be more that the $159.99 that he had down for the hour of labor. Their estimate for valve replacement was $466.97. Decided to get another estimate and got the work done for about $300. Very Expensive Place...and service attention to customers (at least with the rep that I worked with) is not satisfactory.

Always good but this last visit they rotated my tires and 30 mins after I left A service monitor system warning came on for rear drivers tire. I did a relearn tire pressure on it and comes up still 7 to 10 times a day. I've called and left messages twice with no call back.

The lady that took care of me was great! She met me outside the shop, took some information, and then led me to the lounge. She came to me with dirty filters and asked if I wanted them replaced , being able to see the filters made it an easy decision.

After my oil change-I noticed that there were oily fingerprints on my car door. I then noticed a bunch of oil on my windshield where the worker placed the sticker for the next oil change. Unacceptable!!!

I love working with the staff in the service department at the RL Don Johnson’s. I feel like a valued customer and they help troubleshoot how they can best serve me. In my recent visit it was determined I needed a loaner vehicle overnight while a tire was shipped. In my situation, I do not live close and I do not have a backup vehicle or an extra driver so having a loaner vehicle is invaluable. Details such as rides across town while waiting for services to be completed, loaner vehicles when needed, being constantly updated during service and friendly service members is what keeps me coming back to Don Johnson RL. Thanks for the great service.

Talked to your AI bot to setup appointment, arrived at set time and service team had no info on my appointment. Charged me $180 for diagnostics to tell me fuel line was leaking. I knew that. And then wanted $2200.00 to replace fuel lines. Excessive charges and excessive estimated costs. Took vehicle to another service station for repair. In the future I will probably use Don Johnson as a last resort for vehicle service. Just too expensive for an everyday person to afford and your AI bot needs to work.

Very disappointed that we were not able to get our “free” oil change extended. We go south for 3 months in the winter with our motorhome, so we do not put any miles on our car during that time. This we haven’t put on enough miles to need the 3 oil changes we were promised when we bought our brand new Equinox from you We asked the service manager but she said “Nope. Can’t. It’s all computerized”. I find it hard to believe that something can’t be done for us. We spent a lot of money on a new car and have highly recommended Don Johnson Motors to others.
